When Norfolk property developer Crocus Homes relocated to its new headquarters on the Norfolk County Council estate, it required more than just a furniture supplier. They needed a strategic partner for their commercial office relocation and furnishing.

iQ Workspace stepped in to transform a blank-canvas open-plan room into a vibrant, high-performance workspace that balances modern aesthetics with functional efficiency. The brief

  • Crocus Homes came to us via a high-value referral, already trusting our reputation for delivering high-quality service and products. Originally, the client approached us in mid-2024 with a modest floor plan and a conservative budget.
  • Their vision was simple: create a clean, modern workspace that moved away from the “clinical white” look of traditional offices.
  • As the project evolved into 2025, the scope grew. The client realised they needed to accommodate more team members without compromising on comfort. They challenged us to maximise the capacity of their new open-plan area while maintaining an aesthetic that is “warm yet professional.”
  • We worked closely with the team at Crocus Homes to increase the project value, ensuring every penny was spent on high-impact, durable furniture that would grow with their business.

 

The design

At iQ Workspace, we believe that modern office branding should be felt, not just seen. Our approach to commercial interior design rejects generic, one-size-fits-all templates in favour of a strictly collaborative process. For the Crocus Homes project, we delivered a tailored office fit-out consultation led by our expert consultant, Bob.

Bob guided the design with in-person, hands-on sessions, sharing materials and fabric samples. His practical approach made sure every detail, from furniture textures to colour choices, matched our 3D plans.

Thanks to Bob, the workspace truly reflected Crocus Homes’ quality and identity.

3D Visualisation

We provided detailed 3D space renders and computer-generated images of the proposed room to help the team visualise the flow of the space.

As a result, this was a turning point for the client; seeing the layout in a digital "walkthrough" as an interactive, virtual tour of the space that gave them the confidence to sign off on the final plan.

Crafting a tailored workspace

Continuing with our tailored approach, Bob recommended a sophisticated palette of Wood, Graphite, and Forest Green.

We utilised the client’s corporate green for all acoustic screens, creating a cohesive brand experience from the moment you walk through the door.

Smart budgeting

To maximise their investment, we utilised high-quality Narbutas Nova bench desking modular workstations connected in a shared frame, which provided a sleek, modern look while allowing for more workstations, 13 desks in total, while remaining within the client's budget.

The challenges

Every great project has its hurdles. For Crocus Homes, the primary challenge was internal decision-making timelines. The approval process began in early August and, with multiple stakeholders involved, the discussion period continued throughout the month.

However, iQ Workspace maintained momentum through consistent, transparent communication. In mid-August, to bridge the gap between “choosing” and “using,” we provided a sample Axent task office chair for a live trial.

This allowed the client to feel the ergonomic benefits and see the custom brand colours in their own light before committing. Once the order was confirmed, we moved with lightning speed to meet their late-September move-in deadline.

The results

The team completed installation over a seamless two-day window in late October. The Crocus Homes team now proudly calls the impressive office home. To bring the Crocus Homes vision to life, we delivered a curated suite of premium office furniture designed for durability and brand alignment.

  • Installed Narbutas Nova Desking, giving the team sturdy, modern modular workstations to support efficient work.
  • Added Narbutas Storage Solutions, with office cupboards and storage units to help keep the workspace tidy and organised.
  • Supplied ergonomic MDK Axent Task Chairs, each custom-upholstered in Crocus Homes’ forest-green fabric to match their brand and keep everyone comfortable all day.
  • We also provided modern cantilever meeting chairs, offering comfortable, stylish seating for the boardrooms and visitor areas.
  • Finally, we delivered custom reception furniture, including a reception desk designed to make a strong, professional first impression for the guests.

The verdict

Feedback arrived immediately and glowed with praise. During a post-completion visit, the client expressed their strong impression of the space planning and applauded the accuracy of the 3D renders.
